Pop up Picnic – King’s Cross

Client: London Festival of Architecture
Date: 2012

Working with Squire and Partners and Anna Garforth

As part of the London Festival of Architecture we created an urban picnic experience, based around the creation of a picnic toolkit and formed from the memories and associations of the community.

All you need for an urban picnic includes, grass beds that can be wheeled into postion, portable trees and flowers. Recycled palettes used to create seating and painted with the traditional red and white gingham.

The planting was based on peoples associations with eating outdoors with daisy’s represented by marguerites, cosmos and sunflowers, so people could watch the passage of the sun across the sky.
